Hear Brian Eno and My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields Join Forces for Epic New Song

The pair's "Only Once Away My Son" comes as part of Adult Swim's Singles Program

Making for a match in music nerd heaven, ambient hero Brian Eno and shoegaze king Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine have teamed up for a truly massive collaboration. Don't believe us? Just press that play button below to experience their "Only Once Away My Son" for yourself below.

The song comes as part of Adult Swim's Singles Program and stretches out into an epic nine-minute-plus soundscape. While starting off in a very Eno-like manner, the track soon gets wrapped in layer upon layer of Shields' distinctive, ever-gliding guitar work.

As a long time admirer of Kevin Shields' work, Eno was delighted to have the opportunity to work with him when Kevin recently visited his studio. The powerful result, a sweeping journey through sound, captures two highly respected artists at the top of their game.

As previously reported, My Bloody Valentine are busy working on a follow-up to their 2013 reunion effort m b v, as well as soon releasing all-analog vinyl reissues of their classic albums Loveless and Isn't Anything.

As for Eno, he has a collaborative album with Tom Rogerson coming up called Finding Shore. The joint record is due out on December 8 via Dead Oceans.
