Hassle

Je M'excuse

BY Cam LindsayPublished Jun 1, 2002

With plenty of attitude and grit, the Hassle kicks up a storm of powerful rock’n’roll on their debut release, Je M’excuse. Summoned are the ghosts of the Ramones, New York Dolls and the Runaways to create one menacing rock monster. Filled with plenty of Johnny Thunders guitar riffs and some vintage muffled production, Je M’excuse sounds right out of the old New York punk scene. Numbers like "Truth Dare” and "Saturday Nite” revel in the idea of causing mayhem and having fun, which is what rock’n’roll is about.
