The band make no attempt to hide the fact that "the cool punks don't like 'em," "the metalheads think they don't have enough solos," "hardcore kids can't dance to it," "crusties don't like their backpatches" and "stoners think they lack the groove." Blending elements of hardcore, metal, grindcore and power violence to their own satisfaction, Cosmic Pessimism celebrates the hopelessness of the world through songs that are equal parts dark, heavy and vicious.
