FrancoFEST Hamilton — the largest Francophone arts and culture festival in the Niagara Peninsula initiated by the Centre francophone Hamilton — is back in-person at Gage Park for its 2022 edition this June 17 and 18.

For this year's live performance lineup, there are 15 Francophone artists on deck over the course of the two-day event, including YAO, Céleste Lévis, DJ Unpier, Samajam, Mimi O Bonsawin, Adama Daou, Hassan El Hadi, Hamilton Beat Harmonic, Breezy, Émilie Guérin and DJ Elleäna, with Stef Paquette returning to host for the fourth year in a row.

In addition to live music, the festival features entertainment from dancer Makhena Rankin Guérin, salsa collective Salsa Soul and drag performer Jezebel Bardot. Keeping with their circus tradition, FrancoFEST will present Hisse et Ho! by the Le Gros Orteil troupe, which combines circus arts, physical theatre and clown play.

Attendees can also partake in workshops, ranging in topics from African crafts, a djembe circle, a raffle and bingo, while bouncy castles and games will be available for kids to enjoy. A wide range of food will be offered by Resto Chez Chloé and food trucks.

The event in celebration of the vitality of French-speaking Ontario is free to attend. You can learn more about the festival's programming via its website.
