Grown-Ups Announce New 7-Inch

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 7, 2012

We've been aware of Calgary-based trio Grown-Ups for a few years now (full reveal: vocalist/guitarist Josiah Hughes is a regular contributor to Exclaim!), and via tapes, seven-inches and a full-length, we've seen the group morph from scrappy pop punks to, well, slightly less scrappy pop punks. Ready to show off the next chapter in the good book Grown-Ups, the band have revealed a new seven-inch.

Though a specific release date has yet been delivered, Mammoth Cave Recording Co. is currently taking pre-orders for the four-track Spare Time single. It will apparently drop sometime in March.

According to a press sheet, the four-song mini-platter "further develops the more nuanced punk direction that the band was developing on their highly underrated LP Stopped Caring." You can check out a stream of the buzzy title track down below.

The band also have a few upcoming live dates around Alberta to celebrate the release, and you can see that info down below as well.

Spare Time:

1. "Spare Time"
2. "It Gets Worse"
3. "Full Hearts"
4. "The Things That I Could Live Without"

Tour dates:

3/13 Calgary, AB - Commonwealth (release show)*
3/16 Lethbridge, AB - Moose Hall $
