Former members of legendary New York punk acts Black Train Jack and Warzone come of age on their sophomore effort. Although they sounded a lot like a band trying to find an identity on their 1998 self-titled debut, they seem to have figured things out this time around. Vocalist/guitarist Ernie (no last names here, this is punk rock after all!) comes into his own as vocalist and songwriter especially on a pseudo ballad like "Silence," which breaks from hardcore's musical conventions to reflect the sombre and mournful lyrics. The fact they aren't afraid to do that deserves credit on its own. The fact they do it well is a testament to their abilities as a band. (Victory)
