Calgary post-punk trio Gretchen are set to follow up their 2013 self-titled LP with a new five-song release called Oblique Contours. Today, Exclaim! is happy to premiere the release in full.
Oblique Contours certainly embodies the so-called "Calgary sound" with Gretchen embracing their inner Women via wintry guitar runs, off-kilter rhythms and dejected post-punk vocals. That said, it's excellently executed and expertly recorded.
