Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Ejected from Flight for Wearing His Pants Too Low

Billie Joe Armstrong is pushing 40, but the Green Day frontman still has a penchant for punk, and apparently in his case that comes with wearing baggy clothes. Unfortunately, Armstrong's loose-fitting pants were deemed offensive to Southwest Airlines, who recently kicked the singer-guitarist off a flight in Oakland, CA.

Last week, the songwriter took to Twitter to complain, "Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low! What the fuck? No joke!"

According to witness Cindy Qiu [via ABC], Armstrong was asked to hike up his pants when boarding and replied, "Don't you have better things to do than worry about that?"

The request was repeated, and the Green Day leader said, "I'm just trying to get to my fucking seat." This comment got him kicked off the flight.

After his complaint went out, Southwest Airlines quickly tweeted an apology, writing, "Very sorry for your experience tonight, someone from our Customer Relations Team will reach out to you to get more details."

Armstrong then took the next flight.

The lesson here? If an airline is planning to kick off a passenger with over 171,000 Twitter followers, they had better have a damn good reason.
