There's already plenty of excitement surrounding the new soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby, which features contributions from the likes of Jay-Z, Beyoncé and André 3000, the XX, Florence and the Machine, Bryan Ferry, and Lana Del Rey. Now, here's a new reason to look forward to the star-studded soundtrack: the vinyl release will be handled by Third Man Records.
The Nashville imprint's involvement in the release makes sense, since label boss Jack White appears on the album with a cover of U2's "Love Is Blindness."
An announcement reveals that this vinyl pressing will be the 17-song deluxe version (that's three extra songs compared the 14-track standard edition), and it will be packaged in gatefold artwork.
See the deluxe tracklist below. Note that this version of the tracklist (which comes from iTunes) also includes four dialogue snippets; there's no word as to whether any of these will be included on the vinyl pressing.
Third Man will also release some of the album tracks as 7-inch singles, including "Love Is Blindness." The soundtrack was executive produced by Jay-Z.
Third Man does not state a release date for the vinyl edition, but if it arrives at the same time as the CD/digital versions being handled by Interscope, expect it May 7.
