Grandaddy Return with Two-Song Single Ahead of Album Release

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 9, 2016

Just over a year after Grandaddy leader Jason Lytle revealed that his project were recording their first full-length in a decade, the band have revealed some songs from their recent recording sessions.

A two-song digital single issued today (September 8) includes the cuts "Way We Won't" and "Clear Your History." A press release adds that the group are still working on a full-length release, which is now confirmed to be coming out sometime in the future via Danger Mouse's 30th Century Records. This will be the first new album from the Modesto, CA-bred unit since 2006's Just Like the Fambly Cat.

"Grandaddy have always been one of my favorite bands," Danger Mouse said in a statement. "I think their new single is up there with their best work and I'm proud to have them become part of 30th Century."

It's currently unclear if the two new tunes will pop up on the as-yet-untitled fifth Grandaddy LP. But for now, you can stream both cuts down below via a pair of newly released music videos.
