Gorillaz Announce Live Return with Their Very Own Demon Dayz Festival

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 6, 2017

Gorillaz have been teasing us with a new album for what feels like forever, and while details on a forthcoming full-length are still scarce, the virtual band did share a new single titled "Hallelujah Money" on the eve of Donald Trump's inauguration. Now, the Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett-powered project have announced their live return.

They'll headline a festival of their own making in the UK this summer. It's been dubbed Demon Dayz and will also feature an array of yet-to-be-announced artists curated by Albarn and Hewlett.

The show will take place on June 10 at the Dreamland amusement park in Margate, UK — and yes, admission includes the rides. For North American fans unable to make the trek, though, the whole thing will be livestreamed via Red Bull TV.

It's exciting news from a band that haven't toured since 2010. Here's hoping Albarn takes a leaf out of his Blur bandmate Alex James's playbook and brings an iteration of Demon Dayz to Canada soon.
