Now this is just downright spooky. Someone synched up clips of James Cameron's Avatar to an old cut off of Gorillaz' 2005 Demon Days record, and you know what, it works perfectly. Way better than that old Dark Side of the Moon/Wizard of Oz experiment your parents told you about.
The funky, mostly spoken-word cut "Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head," led by the late Dennis Hopper, talks about the happy folk being overcome by invaders the same way the military ambushed the Na'vi's homeland in the 2009 sci-fi epic. It's heartbreaking watching the blue-skinned tribe walk away from their devastated homes to the sound of Damon Albarn's folksy croon. Considering how well these two pieces go together, is it safe to say Cameron's a huge fan of the singer's post-Blur work?
