Gold Lake Sign to Outside Music for 'Years,' Share "Arles"

Canadian imprint Outside Music has beefed up its international roster by bringing aboard Brooklyn trio Gold Lake for a new album release. The group's Years will be delivered on November 4.

A press release explains that the roots of the band trace to a chance encounter in a Madrilenian nightclub. After bonding over a love of West Coast canyon country and '70s era Eno, vocalist Lua Rios, guitarist Carlos Del Amo and drummer Dave Burnett started up Gold Lake, eventually relocating to New York.

Their debut album was three years in the making, with the record apparently weighing in on the tragedies and joys of life. This is said to be supported by shimmering "harmonies and instrumental passages." Years was tracked at Madrid's La Cabaña studios with engineer Jose Nortes ahead of being mixed by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, the Walkmen).

"Working on this album with two great people was very important to us. Jose engineered the album back in Madrid when we decided to head into the studio to lay down some of the ideas we'd been having for a while, and then Phil came in and made it all pretty," Del Amo said in a statement of their studio collaborators.
