Godspeed You! Black Emperor

"Undoing a Luciferian Towers"

Following a leak of information online, Godspeed You! Black Emperor confirmed that a new record called Luciferian Towers was on the way, and now the track from which it takes its title has arrived.

"Undoing a Luciferian Towers" is an eight-minute opus and serves as the opening piece on the record. A previously shared description of the song reads:

look at that fucking skyline! big lazy money writ in dull marble obelisks! imagine all those buildings much later on, hollowed out and stripped bare of wire and glass, listen — the wind is whistling through all 3,000 of its burning window-holes!

The musical accompaniment to the takedown of corporate skyscrapers is suitably ominous; anxiety builds as the instrumental track descends into beautifully orchestrated anarchy.

Luciferian Towers is out September 22 via Constellation Records. It marks the band's follow-up to 2015's Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress.
