Girlpool's Avery Tucker is rising from the ashes of the beloved indie duo's 2022 disbandment with today's (May 21) release of his debut single as a solo artist, "Big Drops." A tender and poignant acoustic track, the single was co-written and co-produced by Tucker and Alaska Reid.
"'Big Drops' is a story about loving and losing someone who is finding themselves time and time again overtaken by the big drop," said Tucker of the track.
As a press release notes, "While his new music showcases the creative skills he honed during his decade in the band [Girlpool], he is now challenging himself to confront his own instincts, and the results are remarkably potent and personal."
More music from Tucker's solo venture can be expected later this year. Girlpool's Harmony released her debut album last year.
