Girl Trouble's 'Hit It or Quit It!' Treated to Expanded Reissue

BY Josiah HughesPublished Sep 20, 2013

Seminal Tacoma, WA garage punks Girl Trouble were crucial in establishing the Pacific Northwest's eclectic punk sound, and they're still alive and well some 30 years on. To celebrate their career, K Records, their neighbours to the south in Olympia, are reissuing their debut album Hit It or Quit It!

Originally released in 1988 as a co-release between K and Sub Pop, the album will lose the latter for its reissue. The record features all 12 tracks from the original release — one of which is a cover of Paul Revere & the Raiders' "Steppin' Out" — along with two previously unreleased tracks.

As the press release explains, "With the minimal pounding of Bon's drums, the steady cool of Dale on bass, the buzzsaw scream from Kahuna's Ouija guitar, and the rabid rock'n'roll stylings of K.P. Kendall, Girl Trouble continues playing throughout the Northwest, 30-plus years on. So that's the story, kids. Use it or lose it. It's my way or the highway. Eat it or wear it. Hit It or Quit It!"

There's no official release date as of yet, but you can check out the tracklisting below along with a stream of the band's surfy stomper "Wreckin' Ball."
