The Best Album Ever Is Here — Listen to the Sadies' Richard Reed Parry-Produced New Record 'Colder Streams'

"Colder Streams is intimately tied with the untimely loss of our brother, Dallas. There is no way to separate the music from the man and so in releasing this album, we are giving a piece of him to each of you"

The Sadies have officially made their grand return — like, "Best Album Ever" grand, like 10/10 grand — with Colder Streams, the beloved band's Richard Reed Parry-produced new album.

The Sadies' first release since the unexpected passing of Dallas Good in February, the record is his final studio recording with the band. "Colder Streams is intimately tied with the untimely loss of our brother, Dallas," the band shared in a statement. "There is no way to separate the music from the man and so in releasing this album, we are giving a piece of him to each of you."

That piece is the greatest distillation of the band's myriad talents yet, and it's a fittingly transcendent goodbye to one of Canada's most dynamic bandleaders and songwriters. Lush and adventurously textured without losing any of the band's dust-blown grit, Colder Streams finds them at the top of their game nearly three decades on.

Put more simply, as our own Vish Khanna wrote in Exclaim!'s 10/10 review, Colder Streams is "a perfect Sadies record," one that "captures so much of what this unclassifiable rock 'n' roll outfit were (and still are) all about."

Producer Richard Reed-Parry feels much the same way, writing in a statement that he was "utterly thrilled" to produce what would become such a meaningful, and bittersweet album in the Sadies catalogue:

"I just hung around listening to the greatest live band in the country playing their asses off, and then occasionally I'd get off the couch and sing backing vocals. That said, this is the Sadies' finest album, the one I always hoped they'd make one day and I'm stoked to have been there helping them do it. What an incredible band."
