Get the Latest from Alex Ebert, Dr. Dre, Frank Ocean and Huddles in This Week's Click Hear Roundup
Published Feb 28, 2011If you worry you might have missed some new music content the last few days, fear not. Our trusty Click Hear roundup has collected another fine selection of the latest in new music streams, downloads and videos.
First off, Alex Ebert's Alexander (pictured), is available to stream in full. This is the Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes frontman's debut solo attempt, which melds psychedelic pop with alternative folk. An interesting listen, but worth it nonetheless.
If you haven't been living under a rock, you likely know all about Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All by now. That said, you may want to check out the latest mixtape by collaborator Frank Ocean. He's given us Nostalgia, Ultra, which is quite different from the usual messed-up hip-hop to come out of other group members such as Tyler, the Creator or Earl Sweatshirt.
Next, Huddles, an indie quartet based out of Toronto, has leaked "Islands" from their upcoming EP, Fault Lines. This will be a band to watch out for, as "Islands" is one of the catchiest pop songs we have heard recently.
On the video front, Yonie came to our attention a while back, and now the director has returned with another Kanye West creation for the track "Blame Game." The unofficial video matches the quality of the track, offering a large helping of sappy love, but despite being an amateur video, it is pretty well done. Also in videos, Dr. Dre has given us an epic vid for "I Need a Doctor," which is just shy of being a short film.
We end this week, the latest offering from Boris, who have released the new track "Hope." The song has guitarist Wata taking the reins as lead vocalist, with her soft-sung vocals scoring Boris some serious pop points.
