Get Cinematic with 'Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie,' 'Project X,' 'Once Upon a Time in Anatolia' and More in Our Film Roundup
Published Mar 02, 2012As March's first box office weekend approaches, let Exclaim! guide you through the best (and worst) movies making the rounds this week. For full reviews of the following picks, check out our Recently Reviewed section.
First off, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim bring their cult comedy to the cinema with Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (pictured), the Adult Swim stars' first attempt at translating their bite-sized TV show to the big screen. Thankfully, they have the likes of Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Zach Galifianakis to help them along the way. Then, for better or worse, it's all parties, pussy and puking in Nima Nourizadeh's teen flick Project X.
Also out this week, actor-turned-director Jiang Wen delivers his Chinese action-comedy/Western Let the Bullets Fly, while Nuri Bilge Ceylan gives us the beautifully shot, if a tad protracted, police procedural Once Upon a Time in Anatolia.
Lastly, Simon Davidson explores risk addiction in his gambling-focused crime drama The Odds, and Anh Hung Tran tells a tale of love, loss and the realities of growing up in Norwegian Wood, a film adaptation of Haruki Murakami's best-selling novel.
