Earlier this week, iconic riot grrrls Sleater-Kinney generated some serious excitement with the announcement of their first new album in a decade.
And it seems no one is more stoked for their return than former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way. At a CMJ show last night (October 23) at Webster Hall in New York City, the emo poster boy paid homage to the band with a cover of "I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone."
The track originally appeared on Sleater-Kinney's 1996 album Call the Doctor, but you can hear Way's scream-y, updated take on the classic by watching some fan-shot footage below.
