Wildly experimental DFA associate Gavin Russom has mostly caught our attention with his work as Black Meteoric Star, but he's back to working under his own name with a pair of new SoundCloud uploads.
Far from small efforts that are easy to brush off, Russom's latest efforts clock in at a combined 30 minutes. First up is "Soundtrack for Wood Wood Berlin Runway Show 2011," a daunting 18-minute composition that builds intensity via impossibly busy layers. "Heavenly Body," meanwhile, is an 11-minute fist-pumper with cut-up vocals, MIDI piano and a solid beat.
Check out both tracks below.
