Fugazi's Joe Lally Returns with Why Should I Get Used to It

BY Josiah HughesPublished Apr 11, 2011

Since Fugazi went on a hiatus in 2003, bassist Joe Lally started developing an active solo career with the albums There to Here and Nothing Is Underrated released in 2006 and 2007, respectively. Lally toured those records heavily before settling down in Rome. It was from there that he eventually completed work on his upcoming third album, Why Should I Get Used to It.

While previous efforts have seen Lally collaborate with his Fugazi bandmates alongside members of Cappilary Action, Zu and Melvins, Why Should I Get Used to It sees him settle down with a more permanent lineup. Guitarist Elisa Abela and drummer Emanuele Tomasi, Lally's recent touring band, sit in on the recording as well.

Why Should I Get Used to It will be released on May 3 in Canada via Dischord in conjunction with Lally's own Tolotta Records imprint.

In addition to the new release, Lally has booked some European tour dates, which can be viewed here. More dates are currently being booked, meaning we might see him return to North America this year.
