Fucked Up

"Year of the Dragon"

Fucked Up are gearing up for the release of their Glass Boys album on June 3, but let's not forget about their upcoming 12-inch, Year of the Dragon. The title cut in this latest instalment in their Chinese zodiac series is streaming now.

We had already heard the song in live form, but now we have the full 18-minute studio version. It starts with sparse guitar arpeggios before exploding with headbanging rhythms and vocal cord-punishing screams. The arrangement ebbs and flows over its epic runtime, switching between full-throttle aggression and quieter passages, eventually culminating in free-form noisemaking.

The 12-inch is due out on April 22 through Tankcrimes. Vinyl copies, which come with a bonus flexi-disc, can be pre-ordered here.

Glass Boys, meanwhile, arrives via Arts & Crafts in Canada and Matador Records in the U.S.
