Fox News Criticizes Kacey Musgraves for Using Profanity in Gun Control Rant

Saying "fuck" is most definitely the biggest problem here

America's gun problem refuses to slow down, with a reported 248 mass shootings having taken place in 2019 alone. While many politicians have responded with an equivalent of the classic Onion article, a great deal of activists are speaking out. Among them is country star Kacey Musgraves, who recently urged a Lollapalooza crowd to chant "somebody fucking do something."

Fox News was, naturally, pissed about a country star speaking out against their precious automatic firearms, but they took a strange angle to their critique. Specifically, on Fox & Friends, host Ainsley Earhardt and her guest Todd Starnes (who, it must be noted, is the subject of many wonderful memes) complained that Musgraves said "fuck."

"She's up there preaching about gun control, but how about her language? What happened to wholesome country singers?" Earhardt said. "I suspect she was put on a church prayer list," Starnes responded.

"What about the kids? She's asking them to chant the F word. I thought about that. I don't want my daughter… I mean, these young girls, they look up to these musicians." Earhardt continued. "She sings two great songs that I've downloaded, 'Butterflies' and 'Rainbow,' I love those songs, but now I'm gonna look differently at her because she is chanting that vulgar language."

The pair went on to criticize Musgraves for speaking out against guns in her onstage rant. As Brooklyn Vegan explains, the full text of her Lollapalooza rant reads as follows:

Somebody fucking do something about the shit that's happening in the last 24 hours – much less everything that's happened in the last 200-and-fucking days in America. I don't know what the answer is, but obviously something has to be fucking done. Maybe somebody will hear us if we all yell together and say, 'Somebody fucking do something.'

She doubled down in a series of tweets, which you can read below. There, you'll also find the mind-numbing Fox & Friends video.
