Foo Fighters Cover Paul McCartney, Prince, Pink Floyd on Record Store Day LP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 11, 2011

We've already heard about one covers album that will be arriving on shelves on Record Store Day, as Deftones unveiled the functionally titled Covers. Foo Fighters will be following suit with their own covers collection, Medium Rare, which will be released on vinyl on April 16.

The 13-track collection is heavy on classic rock, as it has versions of songs by Paul McCartney, the Zombies, Cream, Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy. There are also tunes by Gary Numan, Prince, the Ramones, Gerry Rafferty and Hüsker Dü, among others. The majority of these tracks have been released before, and some songs (such as "Baker Street") date back to the '90s. See the tracklist below.

This is the latest announcement in an already-exciting year for Foo Fighters. The covers album will arrive on the same week as the Foo Fighter's latest LP, Wasting Light, which drops on April 12 via Roswell/RCA. Read up on that album here. They also have a new documentary, Back and Forth, playing in cinemas on April 5.
