Fond of Tigers Offshoot Limbs of the Stars Prep Debut Album, Line Up Canadian Dates

Various members of Vancouver's Fond of Tigers also perform with some of the city's most renowned local exports, including Dan Mangan and Destroyer. Their busy touring schedule led three of their Fond of Tigers bandmates to start their own project and record a new album. The trio are called Limbs of the Stars, and they will release Heartwarmongering on November 6 through Offseason.

The project started when frontman Stephen Lyons, bassist Shanto Acharia and drummer Skye Brooks began working on new material while the other FoT members were on tour. The sessions took on a life and sound of their own, so the newly formed group decided to head into the Hive studio with Jesse Gander (Japandroids, White Lung, the Pack A.D.) to participate in what Lyons calls "probably the most relaxed recording session I've ever done."

Scroll past the tracklist to check out the band's upcoming tour schedule, which includes four shows in BC and Alberta.

At the bottom of the page are unmastered versions of a couple album tracks. These performances, culled from the group's Bandcamp, will give you a taste of their angular, jammed-out sound.
