The Flaming Lips Detail Collaborations Comp Featuring Bon Iver, Nick Cave, Chris Martin, Erykah Badu

The Flaming Lips began building hype for their compilation of collaborations last fall, and since then, the psych pop heroes have been gradually confirming the names of the artists involved. Now, with the Record Store Day release date of April 21 scarcely a month away, the band have finally shared the tracklist for the collection, which is titled The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends.

Unsurprisingly, given the number of collaborations the band have been hinting at, this is a double LP with 13 songs in all. In addition to a few previously released tracks, there is plenty of unheard material, including songs with Bon Iver, Erykah Badu, Yoko Ono, and more. More collaborators include Coldplay's Chris Martin, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Tame Impala, Prefuse 73, Nick Cave, Neon Indian and Lightning Bolt.

The vinyl will be multi-coloured, and no two copies will look exactly the same. This limited-edition version will be the only run, so you're going to need to fight off your fellow shoppers in order to secure yourself a copy.

The Flaming Lips have another collaborative Record Store Day release on the way in the form of a seven-inch containing "A Spoonful Weighs a Ton," plus a cover of the same song by Mastodon.
