Bringing in a whole new crew of collaborators, Fiver has just announced plans to release a new EP with the Atlantic School of Spontaneous Composition. You Wanted Country? Vol. 1 arrives April 3 via You've Changed.

According to a release, Vol. 1 is the first of many You Wanted Country? instalments, the band having recorded several volumes live off the floor "to two-inch tape" at Gavin Gardiner's All Day Coconut Studio in Toronto.

Today, the crew have shared their first single from the effort, a reinterpretation of Gene Clark's "Train Leave Here This Morning." Taking an improvisational approach to all the songs on the EP, Fiver's Simone Schmidt is heard on this track wrangling "the impulses of these instrumentalists who are naive to the tradition."

Schmidt's latest record was 2017's Audible Songs from Rockwood.

Listen to "Train Leave Here This Morning" below, where you can also find the EP's tracklisting. That's the album art above.

You Wanted Country? Vol. 1:

1. It Is What It Is (Radio Edit)

3. It Won't Be Long (And I'll Be Hating You)
4. Why Do I Have To Choose
5. It Is What It Is (Regular Life Edit)
6. BONUS TRACK: Fiver - Show Me The Mark (ft. The Highest Order)
