Canmore Folk Festival is calling music fans back to the Rockies on the August long weekend (August 2–4) for another year, and this year's edition has plenty of Canadian talent on offer.
More than two dozen musicians will be on duty for the mountain festivities, and we have some can't-miss options for the musically curious attendees among us. Here are Exclaim!'s must-see acts at this year's event. Find tickets, including day passes and full weekend passes, here.
The Denim Daddies
The Albertan (not) country bros were among Exclaim!'s Class of 2020 picks, and they released their debut album Northern Goods last year.
Dominique Fils-Aimé
The 2024 Polaris long-lister has only a few Canadian commitments mapped out in 2025, so take advantage of the rare opportunity to catch her multi-faceted rhythm and blues in real life.
Nicolette and the Nobodies
The band of Guelph country music purveyors have been putting in the work behind 2024 debut album The Long Way for the past year, and are gradually making their case for being the nation's best emerging country act. Don't miss this chance to see the band before they blow up and act like they don't know nobody.
Skinny Dyck
Let your freak flag fly at Ryan Dyck's stage show, or let your Easygoing side shine — the Lethridge-based musician is hot off the release of his 2024 studio album, and your inner wolves are dying to be activated by its vibes.
Chad VanGaalen
As a CanCon vet, VanGaalen is a seasoned festival pro, and he's been known to get a little freaky on stage. Blending his musical performance with his penchant for visual art, his show is sure to be a treat for ears as well as eyes (of all ages).
