Area 506 Festival will be lighting up the waterfront in Saint John, NB, again this year. The festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary with another killer Canadian lineup, featuring legendary vets and can't-miss rising stars. The acts will be taking the stage at the Waterfront Container Village from August 1 to 3. What better way to spend the New Brunswick Day long weekend?

Single-day and weekend passes for the festival can be found here. Below are Exclaim!'s five must-see acts heading to the East Coast this August.

Alexisonfire
The seminal Canadian post-hardcore band are making their long-awaited return to New Brunswick to rip a thunderous headlining set on the second night of the festival.

Broken Social Scene
Park that car, drop that phone, and catch Toronto's iconic indie rockers close out the first night of the fest. Need we say more?

Cancer Bats
The Toronto-based hardcore band brings the energy with heavily distorted guitars and throat-tearing vocals. Their newest track, "Backstab the Rat Race," comes as a gift to fans after the band recently had their gear stolen while on tour in the US.

Ria Mae
The platinum-selling singer-songwriter from Halifax, NS, has made a name for herself over the years with glossy, danceable pop hits, understandably making her no stranger to extensive radio play.

Wolf Castle
The Mi'kmaq rapper from Pabineau First Nation, NB released his fourth album, Waiting for the Dawn, last October. He's a fresh voice in the Canadian hip-hop scene, delivering his introspective lyrics with an old-school flow.
