Fallen Year

To You These Words Mean Nothing

BY Sam SutherlandPublished Jun 1, 2004

Once known as Dilan Dog, these three Bramptonians have come a long way in the last few years. With their first full-length release as Fallen Year, the band have crafted an album filled with gorgeous melodies and catchy hooks, played with enough technical sophistication to keep it interesting, listen after listen. With subtle touches of piano, tracks like "This Song Was Always For You” strike a chord reminiscent of Sinclaire, though the influence is muted under the impressively original songwriting. With a quality of sound befitting a much larger band, To You These Words Mean Nothing is a stellar effort from a band whose blend of emo, pop, and rock will be sure to garner them countless new fans in the wake of its release.
