In the midst of their "Hella Mega Tour" with Weezer and Green Day, Fall Out Boy have pulled out of a few stops due to a team member testing positive for COVID-19.
Their upcoming appearances in New York tonight (August 4) and Boston tomorrow (August 5) have been cancelled as a result.
The band broke the news in a statement posted to their Instagram account. "It's important to note that everyone on the entire tour — both band and crew — are fully vaccinated," they've assured us. As we know, breakthrough infections can still happen; as can false-positive tests.
Regardless, we commend the Fall Out Boy camp for exercising "an abundance of caution" in this situation — even though the tour is now skipping Canada entirely.
Weezer, Green Day and the Interrupters will go on as scheduled, with Fall Out Boy expected to re-join the lineup for Sunday's (August 8) show in Washington.

Meanwhile, Weezer recently released their cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman."
