Fat Wreck Chords' 25th anniversary celebrations continue, with the label having confirmed that they've reunited with Cali punks Face to Face to put out an LP. Over 20 years after issuing the band's debut full-length, Don't Turn Away, a Fat Wreck Chords-backed follow-up lands sometime next year.
A post on the Fat page explains the reunion a bit deeper, noting that the deal had already been in the works by the time the outfit played the massive Fat Wrecked for 25 Years festival in San Francisco last month. Now, the label has revealed that the group have just headed out to the Blasting Room in Fort Colins, CO, to work with producers Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore on their first album for Fat since 1992.
After issuing 7-inch material and Don't Turn Away in the early '90s, Face to Face bounced around between a number of labels, including Victory Music/A&M, Beyond, Vagrant, Antagonist, and People Like You Records; 2013's Three Chords and a Half Truth had been delivered through Rise Records.
"Returning to Fat Wreck Chords for us is a homecoming," vocalist/guitarist Trever Keith said in a statement. "After eight records on almost as many labels throughout our career, we've definitely been through some of the worst and best of this business. The fact that after 25 years FAT is still going strong, is a testament to their commitment they have to their artists. We are excited about working with people who truly understand what we do and who we are."
