Chillin Island — the upcoming series based on the online radio show from rappers Alec "Despot" Reinstein, Aleksey "Lakutis" Weintraub and former Das Racist hypeman Ashok "Dap" Kondabolu — shared its first trailer today and announced its list of guests, including Young Thug, Lil Yachty and Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig.
The series features the three hosts exploring the wilderness with various musicians "in a valiant effort to reveal unknowable truths from the dreamstate of the shared human existence."
Rosalía, Killer Mike, Gunna, Ski Mask the Slump God, Lil Tecca and Coi Leray will also appear in the unscripted six-episode series, which is premiering next Friday, December 17 on HBO.
In a statement about the show, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming Nina Rosenstein said:
There's been an explosion of really inventive TV produced over the past few years, but nothing can prepare you for Chillin Island. It's a brilliant mix of offbeat observations and weirdly funny revelations built around three unconventional hosts, some well-known rappers, and exotic locations. It's quirky, irreverent, and at times, profound.
