Exclusive: Ohbijou Ink North American Deal with Last Gang Records

Exclaim! can exclusively reveal that Torontonian orch-pop septet Ohbijou have singed a new deal with Last Gang Records, the label home of such acts as Metric, Crystal Castles and MSTRKRFT. The band and label will begin their partnership this summer, when Last Gang will release Ohbijou's long-awaited sophomore album, Beacons, in North America.

For a while now, we've been hearing about this follow-up to 2006's Swift Feet for Troubling Times, but the record finally has the firm North American release date of June 16 for the physical version, and June 2 for the digital. As previously reported, the record also has some label representation across the pond, and will be released via UK indie Bella Union (the Acorn, Fleet Foxes, Andrew Bird.)

In celebration, Ohbijou will hold their very own "special CD release party," which will go down at Toronto's Opera House on June 25. Along with this show, the group also have a few festival dates lined up for the summer, with a full Canadian tour in support of Beacons planned for the fall.

While the fall dates have yet to be announced, here's what's lined up so far for this summer, as well as the tracklisting for Beacons.
