Ex-Hellacopters Guitarist Robert Dahlqvist Announces Debut Solo Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 6, 2013

Former Hellacopters guitarist Robert Dahlqvist will be going the solo route this fall, having announced his first LP under his own name, the tellingly titled Solo. The Swedish artist's debut album arrives October 2 via Despotz.

A press release notes that the longtime garage and hard rock figure, who also plays in Dundertåget, worked on the 11-song album over the last two years, with Björn Olsson (Union Carbide Productions, the Soundtrack of our Lives) handling both mixing and production duties.

"I can, from the bottom of my heart to say, that I have never been this proud of some music I made — feels like a life's work, everything from the music to the lyrics and production," Dahlqvist said in a statement, adding that the songs on the collection "have a very personal and fragile sense of themselves."

The entire LP was sung in the artist's native tongue, and while sound samples have yet to be delivered, you can check out the tracklisting down below and the album cover above.

Dahlqvist's last LP with Dundertåget was 2010's Dom Feta Åren är Förbi.
