Eric's Trip Member Chris Thompson Announces First Moonsocket LP in 18 Years

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 6, 2015

While we all enjoyed some Eric's Trip nostalgia earlier this year via a repress of their classic Love Tara LP, the band's Chris Thompson is keeping in the present with a new album from his Moonsocket project. Dubbed Eurydice, the record lands November 6 through Noyes Records.

A press release notes that while Thompson has kept himself busy over the years with an Eric's Trip reunion and as a member of the Memories Attack, Eurydice marks the first Moonsocket full-length since 1997's Take the Mountain. The 11-song set is described as "equal parts intimate, heartbreaking, and brilliant." The music apparently took inspiration from his wife's illness, making the album title's allusion to the mythological Greek figure Eurydice a little clearer.

The album is being pressed up in limited quantities, with 100 mail order-only copies arriving on clear vinyl and another 150 showing up on standard black wax. You can pre-order over here.

Down below, you'll find a tracklisting for Eurydice, as well as a newly premiered video for acoustic heartbreaker "The Future Isn't a We" down below.
