The burgeoning Vancouver noise rock scene will soon be the subject of Emergency Room Vol. 1, a compilation LP featuring a number of local bands that have recorded at the Strathcona-based Emergency Room studio.
A joint release between local labels Nominal Records and Grotesque Modern (who aptly describe themselves as "a record label devoted to releasing violent puke into the universe), the LP will feature bands such as Mutators, Defektors, Petroleum By-Products, White Lung, Vapid, Twin Crystals, Nu Sensae, and Sick Buildings. It will also come with a 20-page photography and art book featuring contributions from local artists.
A release show with performances from all the bands will be taking place on Saturday, June 14 at the Emergency Room.
