Electric Voice Gets Genesis P-Orridge, Tropic of Cancer, Ike Yard for New Compilation

Following Electric Voice's successful compilation, the boundary-pushing Halifax label is looking to follow it up with another collection of adventurous music. The logically titled Electric Voice II will be out on April 1.

Artists featured here include Tropic of Cancer, Thee Majesty (aka Genesis P-Orridge of Throbbing Gristle/Psychic TV), Martial Canterel, Ike Yard, Nine Circles, Das Ding, Martin Dupont and more. All told, there are 10 songs, which will be released digitally and in a run of 500 LPs.

Unlike the prior electro-pop-oriented compilation, Electric Voice II focuses what a press release calls "a darker spectrum of genres, one that spans more than three decades of minimalist synth and industrial work." This includes archival material from decades past.

Listen to the contributions by Tropic of Cancer, Nine Circles and Martial Canterel below the tracklist. That's the album cover above. Read interviews with Genesis P-Orridge and Ike Yard over at Electric Voice's website.
