El-P Gets Danny Brown, Nick Thorburn, Interpol's Paul Banks for 'Cancer for Cure'

When rapper/producer El-P signed with Fat Possum last year, we knew it meant that he likely had a new full-length on the way soon. Sure enough, the hip-hop star as known as Jaime Meline just confirmed that he'll be releasing Cancer for Cure via Fat Possum on May 22.

The LP will feature a number of high-profile guests, including Danny Brown, Nick Thorburn of Islands, Paul Banks of Interpol, Killer Mike and Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire, among others.

According to a press release, Cancer for Cure is a "bombastic collision of synths, bottomless bass tones, live instrumentation, ear-worming melody, and tightly coiled drum patterns, setting the standard for hip hop production higher than ever."

You can download the single "The Full Retard" over at Pitchfork. And, um, is that a Tropic Thunder reference?

Cancer for Cure will be El-P's first proper full-length since 2007's I'll Sleep When You're Dead. It follows his 2010 instrumental mix weareallgoingtoburninhellmeggamixxx3.
