Eiko Ishibashi Re-Teams with Jim O'Rourke for North American Release of 'Car and Freezer'

Japanese songwriter Eiko Ishibashi previously tapped producer/songwriter/avant-garde hero Jim O'Rourke for 2012's excellent Imitation of Life, and now the pair are back for another go-around. Ishibashi's O'Rourke-produced Car and Freezer will be out in North America on November 18 through Drag City.

As with Imitation of Life, this album was released in Japan prior to being picked up on vinyl by Drag City in North America. The Japanese double-CD version featured two discs: one sung in English and the other in Japanese. It seems that this Drag City version will feature a combination of the two; from the tracklist below, it should be fairly easy to tell which ones are in Japanese. That's the album cover above.

Scroll down past the tracklist to watch a video for the lovely "A Part of Your Life," which is an angelically jazzy, piano-driven number. The clip, directed by Nagasa Bonasu, uses flashy editing to spice up some slightly mundane glimpses of life in Japan.
