Edmonton's Interstellar Rodeo Announces 2013 Lineup Featuring Steve Earle, Alabama Shakes, M. Ward, Sarah Harmer

Edmonton's Interstellar Rodeo made its debut last year, and the music festival is set to return for another go-around in 2013. The event will take place from July 26 to 28 at the Heritage Amphitheatre in Hawrelak Park, and the organizers have unveiled the impressive list of acts who will be performing.

As you might expect from a festival with the word "rodeo" in the title, many (but not all) of the performers have rootsy inclinations. The artists on this year's bill include Steve Earle and the Dukes, Alabama Shakes, M. Ward, Jim Cuddy (of Blue Rodeo), Sarah Harmer, Serena Ryder, Elliott Brood, Kurt Vile, Danny Michel with the Garifuna Collective, Skydiggers, Shout Out Out Out Out, the Deep Dark Woods, Del Barber, C.R. Avery, Amelia Curran and more.

The lineup also features a special performance from a supergroup dubbed the Interstellar All-Stars. This will include Jim Cuddy, Danny Michel and QuiQue Escamilla performing together with a backing band on Sunday, July 28.

The festival is being produced by Six Shooter Records. According to a press release, "Interstellar Rodeo's 2013 lineup is stacked with artists who blaze their own trails, defy expectations and make music that transcends genres."

Tickets go on sale on Saturday (April 6) from Six Shooter's website, plus via Blackbyrd Myoozik and Permanent Records. Advance weekend passes for adults cost $169 (or $179 for a transferable pass), while single-day tickets cost between $59 and $79.
