A Canadian connection has been found in Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift's new music video for "The Joker and the Queen," with Fredericton, NB, and the University of New Brunswick campus appearing in the clip's opening moments.

An aerial shot of New Brunswick's provincial capital and the post-secondary school is prominently featured at the video's 32-second mark.

The "Joker and the Queen" visuals pick things up where 2012 Sheeran/Swift collab "Everything Has Changed" left off, continuing the story of that video's stars, now in their college years.

CBC News points out that the footage landed in the video thanks to its availability through a stock footage website. Kurtis Knappe, who sold his aerial shot to a site in 2018, told the broadcaster, "Just having it out there is a good feeling and getting to share this beautiful city and the campus … it just really speaks to what a beautiful, special place we live in."

On Twitter, the University of New Brunswick acknowledged its newfound notoriety in the world of pop megastardom, and while honorary doctorates for Sheeran and Swift have yet to be offered, the school's athletics department should certainly invite the pair to sing "O Canada" at future games.

"The Joker and the Queen" appears on Sheeran's fifth studio album =, which arrived in October of last year with one of the Worst Album Covers of 2021.
