It's only been a couple of months since Eamon McGrath completed his EP series with the release of his Exile full-length, and now the Canuck singer-songwriter has released a new batch of material. This time, it's a digital collection of B-sides called Live from the Cutting Room Floor (Outtakes: 2009-2012).
These 13 tracks were cut at Vancouver's JC/DC studios during the sessions for Peace Maker and Young Canadians. They were recorded with producers Dave Carswell and John Collins (Destroyer, the New Pornographers).
In an email to Exclaim!, McGrath explained that these songs were misfits and would have sounded out of place on a proper album. This includes the heavy, distorted charge of "Falconers (Birds of Love)," the ragged vocals of the atmospheric "Rain Pipes," and the acoustic intimacy of "All the Roads You Walk on Lead You Home."
Hear the full compilation below. McGrath apparently has a lot more unreleased tracks lying disused in the vaults, and this is the first step in getting them out.
