The Duke Spirit Announce Target Exclusivity and Fashion Line

Bluesy alt-rock darlings the Duke Spirit have announced they're going the way of the retail exclusive. On February 24, the UK outfit will sell a yet-untitled comp exclusively at Target, both in the U.S. retailer's physical shops and online at Target.com. What's more, the Duke Spirit are also launching a new Target fashion line designed by Alexander McQueen, who was inspired by the band's own resident fashionista, front-woman Liela Moss.

As for the album, it will include ten tracks of previously unreleased material, a few old favourites, some new songs and a cover of "Baby Doll" by Big Star songwriter Alex Chilton. And in regards to that whole clothing line thing, here's what Moss had to say about it in a statement:

"I am ecstatic to be an aspect of Alexander McQueen's work. I have always been fascinated by the way he brings the raw, symbolic beauty of the natural world sharply into play with a regal, noble, architectural force. Thematically, the Duke Spirit and McQueen tread a similar path at times. Antlers, feathers and the stuff of the pastoral idyll, stumble into a loud, sweaty pit of punk rock."

Here is the tracklisting for the Duke Spirit's Target comp:

1. "The Step and the Walk"
2. "Love Is an Unfamiliar Name"
3. "Masca"
4. "Cuts Across the Land"
5. "My Sunken Treasure"
6. "Lassoo"
7. "Souvenir"
8. "Do What You Love"
9. "Red Weather (RSR version)"
10. "Baby Doll"
