Matt Mondanile left the wildly popular indie band Real Estate last year and has since been putting the finishing touches on his latest album as Ducktails. Now, the album is finally almost here.
The release is called Jersey Devil, and it marks the sixth album outing from Mondanile under the moniker. The album's 10 tracks were actually started before he left the band, while he was still living in Los Angeles.
To complete the release, however, Mondanile returned to his hometown of Ridgewood, NJ. "Everything felt right: the mini mall across the street, the stock brokers walking their dogs, and the sweet summer smell in the air," he said in a press release.
The album's opening track and lead single "Map to the Stars" has been treated to a fittingly suburban music video, which you can view below.
