California punks Wavves have made some more lineup changes. While the group have had some stability for the last year, following exits from skinsmen Ryan Ulsh and Zach Hill, drummer Billy Hayes, who joined the group last fall, has now apparently left the outfit. Pitchfork reports that the drummer bowed out sometime earlier this fall.
Thankfully, this spilt seems to be less of a headache than Hayes last band-bailing. Along with bassist Stephen Pope, the musician made a high-profile break from Jay Reatard in 2009, which had the late punker claiming good riddance to the "boring rich kids." Shortly thereafter, the pair hooked up with Williams to record King of the Beach.
Hayes has since been replaced by Jacob Cooper of Signals.
There is no word whether or not Hayes has hooked up with a new troupe.
