Drake's OVO Fest, SappyFest and Osheaga Lead This Week's Can't Miss Concerts

The summer has been flying by — it's practically August, and we aren't nearly done with summer concerts and festivals. Pack in as much as you can before the season is over with this week's Can't Miss Concerts. Whether you want a sweaty punk show or a breezy outdoor festival, a hip-hop concert or a bill of homegrown Canadian favourites, you'll find what you're looking for right here. Against Me!

You can catch long-running punk act Against Me! when they pay visits to Kingston, Montreal and Ottawa this week supporting their newest album, Transgender Dysphoria Blues. Punk fans have been itching for Against Me!'s return to Canada — watch their new music video while you wait for these dates to approach.

Bass Coast Festival

Bass Coast Festival is going down in Merritt, BC this week, catering to electronic music junkies and frequent summer festival goers alike. Headliners include homegrown talents A Tribe Called Red and international acts like Addison Groove and Mat the Alien. Festivalgoers can look forward to these performances alongside art installations and various workshops rounding out the four-day festivities.

Osheaga

Have you been counting down the days to Osheaga? The wait is nearly over — Montreal's massive summertime bash takes place this week with red-hot headliners like Outkast, Jack White, Arctic Monkeys and Lorde. Don't miss your chance to attend this giant festival — you'll be talking about it well into the fall.

OVO Fest

Drake is bringing hype to his hometown this week with OVO Fest. Recently reunited rap duo Outkast will headline the first day, with Drake taking the stage on the second day. Drizzy is keeping his special guests under wraps, but you'll want to be there when guest artists are revealed. After this surprising photo surfaced, all bets are off as to who might grace the OVO stage.

SappyFest

New Brunswick will be treated to a little summer festival love with Sappyfest taking place this week. The festival will celebrate its ninth birthday with can't-miss performances from Constantines, Shotgun & Jaybird and PS I Love You. Festivalgoers can be sure that SappyFest will "Bring It on Home" with stellar sets from the fest's stacked line-up.

Wanderlust Festival

West Coast yogis will be flocking to Whistler Resort this week for live music, yoga workshops and more at Wanderlust Festival. Find your centre with performances from Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, RJD2 and Emancipator, and flex your yoga skills with classes held by celebrated instructors.

07/31-08/04 Whistler, BC – Whistler Resort

YG

YG will be serving up a set of bangers to a handful of Canadian cities on his mini Canadian tour. Those cities lucky enough to host the California rapper will hear highlights from his latest album, My Krazy Life. He has tweaked the spelling of our country's name to fit his stylistic preferences during his stay in the north. This week, Alberta and BC fans will want to see what these shows are all about.
