Last year, Canuck rap megastar Drake had his life chronicled with the biographical comic book Fame: Drake. As neat as the idea was, however, we weren't particularly inspired by the cover image with its unsightly lens flare. Now, the comic has been reissued with a way cooler cover image.
The new cover was created by esteemed Ant artist Mario Gully. As you can see, it portrays Drake as a Batman-like superhero, perched on the side of a building. A press release notes that it's an homage to a comic book cover from the '70s.
"I really enjoyed drawing a homage cover for Drake's comic book," Gully said in a statement. "He's one of my favorite artists because he keeps it real. I highly respect that." It's out through Bluewater Comics. Check out images and order a copy here for just $3.99; it's also available through digital retailers.
Drake's OVO Fest is taking place on August 5. The August 4 show was sadly canceled due to Frank Ocean's vocal cord tear.
Look for his next LP, Nothing Was The Same, on September 17.
