Drake historically hasn't fared all that well in public feuds — remember that time Pusha T revealed Drake's secret child? Now, Drake is stumbling his way through a feud with music critic Anthony Fantano of The Needle Drop.
It began yesterday when Fantano uploaded a video claiming that Drake slid into his DMs to share a vegan cookie recipe. Drake then took the bait and responded to this silly joke by sharing a screenshot of what he actually sent Fantano: "Your existence is a light 1. And the 1 is cause you are alive. … And cause you somehow wifed a black girl … I'm feeling a light to decent 1 on your existence."
For any spectators who aren't familiar with The Needle Drop, "light to decent 1" refers to Fantano's numerical rating system for albums. So the "joke," if it qualifies, is that Drake is giving Fantano a 1 out of 10 as a human being. Mostly, it just seems to amount to Drake complimenting Fantano on his wife.
Fantano has claimed victory in this little feud, tweeting an enormous "W" and writing, "My rating system lives rent free in his head." Just to twist the knife, he posted a couple of tweets about Pusha T as well. As of this writing, Drake's DMs are still up on his Instagram Story.
Fantano has typically given Drake's albums quite poor ratings, and he panned this year's Honestly, Nevermind.
